Somatic practices like yoga offer a powerful way to support healing and growth that talk therapy alone may not fully encompass. While talk therapy primarily focuses on verbal communication and cognitive understanding, somatic practices delve into the wisdom and intelligence of the body. Yoga combines movement, breath work, and mindfulness, enabling you to connect with your physical sensations, emotions, and inner experiences on a deeper level. By cultivating body awareness and releasing stored tension, somatic practices can help you process emotions that may be difficult to express through words alone. This approach allows for a holistic healing experience, facilitating a deeper understanding, integration, and transformation of your emotional, mental, and physical well-being.
Some of the potential tools that we will use during our time together draw on Ayurvedic Medicine, Yogic Philosophy, and Social Emotional Strategies. Most sessions will include a physical practice, breath work, and meditation, and may also incorporate mantras, mudras, chakra work, sound and vibrational protocols, ritual, ceremony, and other mindfulness based practices, depending on your specific preferences.
In our first session together, we will review your intake form and discuss the specifics of your goals. We might complete additional assessments that we will use to measure progress. I will be particularly interested in your intrinsic motivators, interests, and belief systems.
I will sit in the boat with you, encourage you, and provide guidance, but you will row, as captain of this ship. Let's take the next step in your wellness journey together!
